Bridge The Gap Testimonials

Image of Disabled SymbolI have known John for about 10 years, following my move to Milton Keynes in order to work for educational charity Bridgebuilder Trust. I have been employed by the Trust as a schools worker for the past 12 years, and I now act as a team leader and Senior Schools Worker.

I first met John in the local church he was involved with at the time. On a couple of occasions John accompanied me to a secondary school where he was involved in the lesson I led for Students. He was able to share honestly and openly about his faith, and answer questions clearly and helpfully for the students.

I have always found John to be friendly and personable; he has a knack of using his warm personality and sense of humour to put people at ease. He is able to lead and oversee groups, and this I observed when visiting Milton Keynes Torch Fellowship for blind and partially sighted people, for whom John was Chair at the time. He gave good direction and leadership to the group.

John has a deep appreciation of the issues of disability through his own personal circumstances, as well as his life and work experiences; this makes him particularly suited to understand and empathise with those who have similar struggles, and for whom the difficulty of dealing with legal and practical matters can sometimes seem overwhelming.

I commend the work John has begun with Bridge The Gap, and feel sure that his contribution will assist many organisations, businesses and groups to provide even more integrated services, and allow those with disabilities the opportunity to reach their full potential.
